Monte Kristo Equestrian Club will be hosting their annual show between the 16th and 17th May.
With over one hundred entries submitted for the event, the show will kick off on Saturday 17th May with a dressage competition being held from 3pm onwards. The Honourable Chris Agius, Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport together with the Chairperson of the Malta Sports Council, Dr. Luciano Busuttil will be present on the Saturday.
Monte Kristo Equestrian Club have also announced a scholarship scheme, sponsored by Azure, wherein ten adult and ten junior riders will be chosen for sponsored tuition in Dressage. The Dressage competition will serve as part of the selection process for these riders.
Judging duties will be undertaken by Mascha Reijs an International Grand Prix rider from the Netherlands. Ms. Reijs has a degree in Training and Coaching Riders and Horses. She is a National Judge Inter I learning for Grand Prix, is a Level 4 Dressage Instructor and an International 3* Para Dressage Judge. Ms. Reijs is a frequent visitor to Malta and has judged several competitions locally, especially in view of riders’ preparation for the annual World Dressage Challenge.
Sunday 17th May events will start at 10am with a Riding Class. Participants in this class consist of riders from five years of age and up taking part in a number of exercises. These exercises start from beginners level entrants who will walk their horse on a lead up to the more advanced riders who are capable of walking, trotting and cantering their horse unaided. Show Jumping will start at 3pm, with classes starting from 50cm and leading up to 110cm.

A Prize Giving Ceremony will be held at the roof garden in Monte Kristo on the evening of the 17th May at 7.30pm.
